A few weeks ago I wrote about a lost 1968 Shirley MacLaine film I've fallen in deep crush with called, The Bliss of Mrs. Blossom (currently streaming on Netflix), which features fantastical, psychedelic dream costuming designed by Jocelyn Rickards, who was also responsible for Jane Birkin's kimono and butterfly tights in Wonderwall.
While getting inspired by photos of the recent Spring 2012 Couture shows, I spied a chapeau by Alexis Mabille that instantly made me think of something Mrs. Blossom had rocked decades before, and was curiously similar. Also during my vintage research/procrastination session, I spotted a 1970s look by Claude Montana for Lanvin that too reminded me of said floppy floral topper . . .
