Whilst watching a video for the 1985 Howard Jones song, Things Can Only Get Better, on YouTube at 6:30 am this morning (don't ask me how these things happen), I discovered my new muses for stellar Summer style . . . his back-up singers.
Dressed in simple white cotton, with dip-dyed tangerine accessories, wrapped turbans, and African bone jewelry, they're a fashion force to be reckoned with.
I'm off to buy some orange sherbet RIT dye, but first, here are some ideas on how to emulate their easy, breezy look.
Vintage African shell necklace from Zanzibar, Tanzania c.1940 (contact dealer for price), Rick Owens Belted jersey dress ($595), suede turban c.1960s by Irene of Montreal ($350), Vintage African hinged bangle made of carved ox bone ($125).
