Auctioneers Rago Arts in Lambertville, NJ, is holding an Early 20th Century Arts and Crafts auction on April 24th, and there are quite a few pieces I wouldn't mind adding to my tzotchkes shelf . . .
(L to R): Bisque-fired bank (est. $1,500), risque "brothel tokens" (est. $3,500), and top hat trinket (est. $1,000), all by George Ohr (Aka; the "Mad Potter of Biloxi"). Awesome photos of the eccentric Ohr (and his manifique moustache) below . . .
(L and Center): Large ceramic Amphora vases with Grés-Bijou by Riessner, Stellmacher and Kessel (Est. $1,750 ea.), (R): Austrian ceramic vase with spooky trees and pearly leaves by Paul Dachsel of Terex ($800)
Chinese Art Deco silk carpet by D. Shaw Nicholls ($1,200), Silver Crest Decorate Bronze Art Deco etched desk set, which totally reminds me of Blade Runner ($900)
Silver turquoise and enamel necklace by Charles Ashbee, which by the looks of it, has to possess actual magic powers ($4,500), California Arts & Crafts bronze and conch shell lamp ($1,500)
I love the vases! If only I could afford that one.
